Title: Repeals Public Campaign Financing
Vote to pass a resolution that submits a constitutional amendment to the voters that prohibits the use of public funds for campaign financing.
- Prohibits the use of public funds to finance campaigns for public office, which includes, but is not limited to, the following (Sec. 1):
- Tax credits or deductions for candidates; and
- The assessment of taxes or fees to be used toward campaign financing.
NOTE: AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION REQUIRES MAJORITY APPROVAL IN EACH CHAMBER FOR PASSAGE. AN AMENDMENT MAY ALSO BE PROPOSED BY INITIATIVE PETITION. IT MUST THEN BE APPROVED BY A MAJORITY OF CITIZENS VOTING IN THE NEXT ELECTION TO BECOME ENACTED.
