Title: Providing Tuition Assistance for Military Veterans
Vote to pass a bill that provides tuition assistance for military veterans pursuing a bachelor's degree.
-Establishes a tuition assistance program for qualifying military veterans when a veteran no longer qualifies for federal benefits (Sec. 3).
-Appropriates $250,000 from the General Fund to provide grants for qualifying military veterans (Secs. 4 & 5).
-Defines “qualifying military veteran” as a veteran who has met the following requirements (Sec. 2):
-Is a resident student;
-Qualified for the federal program;
-Maximized their federal benefits;
-Accepted to an accredited institution of higher education; and
-Has not yet finished a bachelor’s degree.
