Vote to pass a bill that authorizes student-led "inspirational" messages at noncompulsory student events in secondary public schools.
Highlights:
- Authorizes students to select and deliver “inspirational” messages, including prayer, at noncompulsory school events under the following circumstances (Sec. 1):
- The student government chooses to use a message at an event;
- All messages are given by student volunteers; and
- The student volunteer is authorized to determine the message’s format and content.
- Prohibits school personnel from the following activities (Sec. 1):
- Participating in or influencing a student’s choice of message format or content; or
