Title: Authorizes the Use of Deadly Force Against Intruders in a Place of Business
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes the use of deadly physical force against intruders in a place of business.
- Authorizes owners, managers, or employees of a place of business to use any degree of physical force against another person in the following circumstances (Sec. 1):
- The person has entered the place of business unlawfully;
- The owner, manager, or employee has a “reasonable belief” that the person has committed, is committing, or intends to commit a crime in the place of business; and
- The owner, manager, or employee “reasonably believes” that the person might use any degree of physical force against an occupant of the place of business.
