Title: Authorizes Schools to Opt-Out of the National School Lunch Program
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes schools to choose to participate in the National School Lunch Program.
- Authorizes public elementary schools, middle schools, and junior high schools to participate in the National School Lunch Program, whereas existing law requires participation in the program (Sec. 1).
- Authorizes public high schools to participate in the National School Lunch Program (Sec. 1).
- Requires any school that chooses to end their participation in the National School Lunch Program to notify the parents or legal guardians of all enrolled students at least 60 days prior to the end of the school’s participation in the program (Sec. 1).
