Title: Prohibits the Use of Public Funds for Abortion
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits public funding of abortions.
-Prohibits federal or state funds from being used to pay for the direct or indirect costs of an abortion, abortion referral, or abortion counseling (Sec. 1).
-Exempts the following types of abortions from the provisions of this bill (Sec. 1):
-Abortion of a pregnancy caused by rape;
-Abortion of a pregnancy caused by incest; or
-An abortion that is necessary to save the life of the mother.
-Specifies that indirect costs include, but are not limited to, the following (Sec. 1):
-Administrative costs or expenses;
-Employee salaries;
-Rent; and
-Other utilities.
