Vote to override a veto of a bill that repeals certain provisions of the Racial Justice Act.
- Repeals the use of statistical data in determining racial bias, including, but not limited to, sworn testimony that demonstrates the following information (Sec. 1):
- More death sentences were applied to individuals of 1 race than to another race;
- More death sentences were applied for capital offenses against individuals of 1 race than another race; and
- Race was a significant factor in decisions to exercise peremptory challenges during jury selection.
NOTE: A THREE- FIFTHS MAJORITY OF THE ELECTED MEMBERS IS REQUIRED TO OVERRIDE A GOVERNOR'S VETO.
