Vote to pass a bill that establishes the Governor of Oregon as the Superintendent of Public Instruction.
Highlights:
- Requires the Governor to appoint a Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction, who must have at least 5 years of experience in the administration of an elementary or secondary school (Sec. 2).
- Specifies that the Governor will become the Superintendent of Public Instruction after one of the following occurs (Sec. 3):
