Vote to pass a bill that exempts incandescent light bulbs made in Michigan from Congressional authority exercised under the interstate commerce clause of the U.S. Constitution.
Highlights:
-Exempts an incandescent light bulb, including its parts, that is made in Michigan and remains in Michigan from Congressional authority over interstate commerce (Sec. 2).
-Requires incandescent light bulbs made in Michigan to have the words "Made in Michigan" stamped, engraved, or otherwise clearly indicated as evidence that, if the bulb remains in the state, it has not substantially affected interstate commerce (Sec. 3).
-Requires an incandescent light bulb stamped "Made in Michigan" to be manufactured in the state without the inclusion of parts, other than generic or insignificant parts, imported from outside the state (Sec. 2).
-Defines "generic or insignificant parts" as parts that have manufacturing or consumer product applications other than the production of incandescent light bulbs including, but not limited to, the following (Sec. 1):
- -Steel;
-Glass;
-Screws; and
-Ceramics.
