Title: Incentives for Science-Based Businesses

Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that establishes a fund to provide grants for technology-related businesses.

Highlights:
-Authorizes the use of up to 80 percent of the fund for the construction of research facilities at public and private non-profit institutions (Sec. A). -Authorizes the appropriation of at least 20 percent and up to 50 percent of the fund for grants to public and private non-profit institutions pursuing life science technology research, and that of this money, 20 percent must be spent on grants funding research regarding tobacco-related illnesses (Sec. A). -Establishes the "Missouri Technology Corporation" as a non-profit to administer the fund (Sec. A).
