Vote to pass a bill that allows some drug offenders to be sentenced to a Court Approved Drug Abuse Treatment Program. The bill also requires all offenders with a history of substance abuse to participate in a mandatory substance abuse treatment program. The bill also sets the penalty for “Trafficking Through a Controlled Substance Organization,” of at least 15 years and up to life, and sets a five-year minimum sentence for “Criminal Possession of a Weapon while Selling or Attempting to Sell a Controlled Substance."
