Title: Constitutional Amendment Concerning Health Care
Vote to pass a joint resolution that submits a constitutional amendment to the voters that allows the state to opt out of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
-Prohibits any law from compelling any person, employer, or health care provider to participate in a health care system (Sec. 21).
-Prohibits any law from prohibiting the purchase of health care or health insurance or the sale of health care or health insurance (Sec. 21).
-Prohibits any law from imposing a fine or penalty for the purchase of health care or health insurance (Sec. 21).
-Exempts from these provisions all of the following (Sec. 21):
-Any law in effect as of March 19, 2010;
-Required services of a hospital or other health care provider;
-Terms and conditions of government employment;
-Any law to deter fraud or punish wrongdoing in the health care industry; and
-Any law related to workers' compensation.
