Title: Campaign Finance Reporting

Vote to pass a bill that modifies requirements for campaign finance reporting and limits the maximum fine imposed for failing to submit required statements concerning contributions.

Highlights:

  • Repeals a portion of existing law which includes in the definition of "contribution" unfulfilled pledges, subscriptions, agreements or promises, whether they are legally enforceable or not (Sec. 1).
  • Repeals the requirement that candidates or treasurers of political committees report account numbers when filing statements of organization (Secs. 2 & 3).
  • Limits the maximum fine imposed for failing to submit required statements concerning contributions to no more than $5,000 in a calendar month (Sec. 6).
