Title: Eligibility for Indigent Health Care
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes a county, when determining eligibility for a "sponsored alien" under the Indigent Health Care and Treatment Act, to include in the income and resources of the applicant, the income and resources of the person who executed an affidavit of support on behalf of the applicant, as well as the income and resources of the spouse of the person who executed an affidavit of support on behalf of the "sponsored alien," if applicable.
- Defines "sponsored alien" as a person who has been lawfully admitted to the United States for permanent residence, and who, as a condition of admission, was sponsored by a person who submitted an affidavit of support on behalf of that person (Sec. 2).
- Specifies that this bill shall take effect immediately if it receives a vote of two-thirds of all members elected to each house of the state legislature, or beginning September 1, 2011 if the bill does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect (Sec. 3).
- Reps. Anchia, Menendez, Raymond, and Strama are not listed on our vote breakdown because their votes did not accurately reflect their intentions; the representatives were shown voting no on Record No. 1130, but intended to vote yes.
