Vote to pass a bill that allows abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy only to be performed in cities with intensive care units specializing in the care of mothers and their fetus.
- Defines "specialized outpatient surgical facility" as a freestanding facility, not including a hospital, in which surgical abortion procedures are performed after the fetus has attained a post-fertilization age of twenty weeks or more (Sec 2).
- Requires specialized outpatient surgical facilities to be located within close proximity to a licensed hospital that is a level two regional neonatology center or a level 3 care center (Sec 4).
- Specifies that the bill take effect immediately upon enactment (Sec 6).
