Vote to pass a bill that repeals various statutes regulating the activities of providers of telecommunications services.

Highlights:

• Limits the definition of "telecommunications service" as the offering for sale of the conveyance of voice communication, whereas existing law included data or other information at any frequency of the electromagnetic spectrum (Sec. 10).

• Repeals statutes that allowed the Public Service Commission to determine rates for telecommunications services (Sec. 22-24).

• Exempts public utilities that are telecommunications providers from the requirement to fill out questionnaires for and provide documents to the Public Service Commission (Secs. 95-97).
