Vote to pass a bill that prohibits health insurance policies purchased with state or federal funds from providing coverage for abortion procedures, effective July 1, 2011.

Highlights:
  • Prohibits health insurance policies that are purchased with state or federal funds through a health insurance exchange from covering abortion procedures (Sec. 1).
  • Exempts abortion procedures that are necessary to save the life of the mother, as certified by a physician, or if the pregnancy is a result of an act of rape or incest (Sec. 1).
