Vote to pass a bill that requires a physician to perform an ultrasound prior to an abortion, effective July 1, 2011.

Highlights:
-Requires the physician performing an abortion to verify the probable gestational age of the fetus using an ultrasound at the time the abortion is to take place (Sec. 1). -Requires the physician performing an abortion to offer the pregnant woman an opportunity to view the live ultrasound images and hear an explanation of those images, unless (Sec. 1):
    -The woman provides documentation showing that she is a victim of rape, incest, domestic violence, or human trafficking; or -The woman has been diagnosed as having a condition that would create a serious risk of substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function if the woman delayed terminating her pregnancy.
-Authorizes the pregnant woman to decline to view and hear the explanation of the live ultrasound images, but requires the pregnant woman to sign a form acknowledging that she declined this opportunity of her own free will (Sec. 1). -This act is effective July 1, 2011 (Sec. 4).
