Title: Response to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the State of Idaho from enforcing certain provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
-Specifies that no person in the State of Idaho shall be required to participate in a government health insurance program not authorized by the State of Idaho (Sec. 1).
-Specifies that every employer in the State of Idaho is free to decide whether or not to offer, maintain, or modify health insurance plans for their employees (Sec. 1).
-Prohibits the State of Idaho from enforcing, administering, or enacting the discretionary provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which are (Sec. 2):
-Those portions of the FPatient Protection and Affordable Care Act not specifically required by the Federal government; and
-Requirements of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act that will not take effect or require state action prior to June 30, 2012.
-Prohibits the State of Idaho from providing assistance or resources of any kind in order to implement or enforce the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, unless such assistance or resources are required by Federal law (Sec. 2).
-Prohibits the State of Idaho from accepting or expending funds related to the implementation of discretionary provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Sec. 2).
