Title: Revise Post-Viability Abortion Laws
Vote to pass a bill that prohibits physicians from terminating a pregnancy after 24 weeks of gestation.
-Specifies that whoever is found guilty of terminating or attempting to terminate a human pregnancy after viability is subject to a felony of the fourth degree (Sec. 1).
-Specifies that the physician who performs or induces or attempts to perform or induce the abortion may do so under specific conditions that include (Sec. 1):
-The unborn child was not viable; or
-The abortion was necessary to prevent the death of the pregnant woman or a serious risk of the substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function of the pregnant woman.
