Title: Authorizes Medical Marijuana
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that authorizes the possession of marijuana for patients with certain conditions who have been prescribed marijuana for medical use by a certified physician.
- Authorizes patients with the following conditions to use marijuana if prescribed by the patient's physician (Sec. 1):
- Cancer;
- Crohn’s Disease;
- Alzheimer’s Disease;
- Glaucoma;
- HIV/AIDS; and
- Hepatitis C.
- Exempts qualifying patients from being subject to arrest, prosecution, or denial of usage of marijuana prescription (Sec. 1).
- Authorizes the possession of up to 6 ounces of marijuana for medical use (Sec. 1).
- Establishes civil fines of up to $3,000 to those in violation of sections from this bill (Sec. 1).
