Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that authorizes the Patuxent Institution Board of Review and the Maryland Parole Commission to grant parole to certain individuals without prior approval of the Governor, effective October 1, 2011.
Highlights:
-Authorizes the Patuxent Institution Board of Review and the Maryland Parole Commission to grant parole to an individual sentenced to life imprisonment who has served at least 25 years without any diminution of his or her sentence, without prior approval of the Governor (Secs. 1 & 2).
