Title: Authorizes Guns on Campus
Vote to pass a bill that authorizes citizens to possess a firearm and specifies under what conditions it may be lawful to use such weapon.
- Authorizes counties to adopt ordinances to regulate, restrict or prohibit the discharge of firearms within its boundaries, unless otherwise specified (Sec. 1).
- Exempts people from being prosecuted for having discharged weapon for reasons of personal or property self-defense (Sec. 1).
- Exempts those who use their firearms for hunting purposes or a lawfully sport shooting range from being prosecuted by law enforcement personnel (Sec. 1).
- Prohibits the State Board of Education Personnel from amending where residents of college dormitories may by any means possess a firearm in a college dormitory facility (Sec. 1).
