Title: Raises Retirement Age
Vote to pass a bill establishing new age and service requirements for retirement of certain public employees.
-Establishes the following retirement age and service requirements for a public employee under state general plan 3 or municipal plan 1, 2, 3, and 4 who is retired or a member with 5 or more years of service credit as of July 1, 2011 (Secs. 1-5):
-65 years or older with 5 or more years of service credit; -64 years old with 8 or more years of service credit;
-63 years old with 11 or more years of service credit; -62 years old with 14 or more years of service credit;
-61 years old with 17 or more years of service credit; -60 years old with 20 or more years of service credit; or
-any age with 25 or more years of service credit.
-Establishes the following retirement age and service requirements for a public employee under state general plan 3 or municipal plan 1, 2, 3, and 4 who is not a retired member or a member with 5 or more years of service credit as of July 1, 2011 (Secs. 1-5):
-67 years or older with 5 or more years of service credit; or
-55 years or older if the sum of the member's age and years of service credit equal 80.
