Vote to pass a bill that reduces the state sales tax rate, effective July 1, 2011.

  • Reduces the state sales tax rate from 4.7 percent to 4.35 percent for all of the following (Sec. 5):
    • Retail sales of tangible personal property made within the state;
    • Amounts paid for telecommunications services;
    • Sales of gas, electricity, and other fuels for both residential and commercial use; and
    • Sales of prepared food.
