Title: Modifications to Sales and Use Tax
Vote to pass a bill that reduces the state sales tax rate, effective July 1, 2011.
- Reduces the state sales tax rate from 4.7 percent to 4.35 percent for all of the following (Sec. 5):
- Retail sales of tangible personal property made within the state;
- Amounts paid for telecommunications services;
- Sales of gas, electricity, and other fuels for both residential and commercial use; and
- Sales of prepared food.
