Title: Requires Ultrasound Prior to Abortion
Vote to pass a bill that requires a physician or a qualified person to provide certain information to an abortion patient before the abortion is performed.
- -Inform the pregnant woman of the medical and psychological risks of abortion, as well as the risks of pregnancy and childbirth;
-Inform the woman that she has a right to view an ultrasound;
-Direct the woman to available counseling and other resources; and
-Discuss birth control options to prevent unintended pregnancy including availability, risks and efficacy.
- -Abortion is necessary to save the life or preserve the health of the mother;
-The pregnancy is the result of incest or sexual assault; or
-To remove a nonviable fetus or an ectopic pregnancy.
