Title: Establishes JobsOhio
Vote to concur with Senate amendments and pass a bill that authorizes the Governor of Ohio to form a nonprofit corporation that would carry out economic development functions.
-Requires that disclosure statements filed by individuals with the Ohio ethics commission shall be kept confidential (Sec. 1).
-Prohibits state elected officers or staff member from receiving any direct or indirect compensation other than from the agency with which the person serves (Sec.1).
-Defines "JobsOhio" as a nonprofit corporation to be formed by the governor with the purpose of promoting economic development including the following goals: (Sec. 1).
-Job creation;
-Job retention;
-Job training; and
-The recruitment of business to the state.
-Specifies the duties of the board of directors, their strategic plans, a standard code of conduct, and contracts for services (Sec.1).
