Title: Prohibits Discrimination in State Employment Based on Sexual Orientation

Vote to pass a bill that amends the Code of Virginia relating to employment discrimination.

Highlights:
-Establishes that employment discrimination is prohibited based on the following (Sec. 1):
    -Race; -Color; -Religion; -National origin; -Sex; -Pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions; -Age; -Marital status; -Disability; -Sexual orientation; and -Status as a special disabled veteran or other veteran.
-Defines "sexual orientation" as a person's actual or perceived heterosexuality, bisexuality, homosexuality, or gender identity or expression, and does not include any person's attraction toward a person in which the sexual conduct would be illegal due to the age of the parties (Sec. 1). -Expands upon the types of grievances that qualify for a grievance hearing including, but not limited to, the following (Sec. 1):
    -Sex; -Pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions; -Marital status; -Sexual orientation; or -Status as a special disabled veteran or veteran.
