Vote to repass a bill, after having concurred with House amendments thereto, that authorizes collective bargaining for family child care providers that are participants in the Maryland Child Care Subsidy Program, beginning July 1, 2010.

Highlights:
-Authorizes family child care providers to engage in collective bargaining with the State (Sec. 1). -Defines a "family child care provider" as an individual that participates in the Maryland Child Care Subsidy Program and meets one of the following requirements (Sec. 1):
    -Cares for no more than 8 children in a family day care home that is registered with the State; or -Is exempt from the registration requirements for family day care homes.
-Specifies that the current collective bargaining organization, established as the Service Employee International Union Local 500 under a previous Executive Order, will continue as the representative of family child care providers without the need for a new election (Sec. 2). -Specifies that all family child care providers will be represented by the collective bargaining organization, whether or not they are members of the organization (Sec. 1).
