Vote to pass a bill that makes it a felony for an individual to inject a “controlled substance” into a pregnant woman, for a pregnant woman to knowingly take a “controlled substance,” and for an individual to allow or cause a child under the age of eighteen, including fetuses and embryos, to ingest a “controlled substance.” If a pregnant woman is convicted of taking a “controlled substance,” she may be sentenced to a drug treatment program or jail.
