Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that establishes a "crime against nature by solicitation," meaning the solicitation by a individual of another individual with the intent to engage in carnal copulation for compensation.

Highlights:
-Establishes the following penalties for committing a "crime against nature by solicitation" (Sec. 1):
    -For the first offense, unless the individual being solicited is under 17 years of age, a fine of up to $500, imprisonment for up 6 months, or both; and -For the second or subsequent offense, or any offense in which the individual being solicited is under 17 years of age, a fine of up to $2,000, imprisonment for up to 5 years, or both.
-Classifies a second or subsequent offense, or any offense in which the individual being solicited is under 17 years of age, as a sex offense, and requires the offender to register as a sex offender in accordance with existing statues (15 LRS 3-B) (Sec. 1). -Prohibits lack of knowledge of age from being used as a defense for any offense in which the individual being solicited is under 17 years of age (Sec. 1).
