Title: Campaign Finance Law Amendments

Vote to pass a bill that requires corporations and joint stock companies making independent expenditures to provide additional information to be made public by the Secretary of State.

Highlights:

-Requires a corporation or joint stock company that makes an independent expenditure to submit a report to the Secretary of State at least 5 days before the date of the independent expenditure to be posted on the Secretary of State's website, and the report shall include the following information (Sec. 55A):

    -dates of the expenditure; -candidate to whom the communication funded by the expenditure refers; -amount of the expenditure; -name and address of the person to whom the expenditure will be paid; -name and address of the person filing the report; and -names and addresses of all contributors to the expenditure.
-Establishes that a corporation or joint stock company that makes an independent expenditure must place a specific disclaimer on the communication (Sec. 55A). -Specifies that this amendatory act does not take effect unless all of the following bills are enacted into law: HB 6182, HB 6184, HB 6185, HB 6186, HB 6187, HB 6188 (Sec. 1).
