Vote to pass a bill that prohibits the use of hand-held cell phones while operating a motor vehicle.

Highlights:
-Prohibits the use of hand-held wireless telecommunication devices to call or write, send, or read text-based communication while operating motor vehicles (Sec. 1). -Authorizes the use of hands-free devices (Sec. 1). - Defines "hands-free wireless telecommunication devices" as any type of instrument, device or machine that is capable of transmitting or receiving telephonic, electronic, radio, text or data communications that allows a user to engage in a call or communication text with an internal feature or function or additional attachment without the use of either hand (Sec. 1). - Defines "hand-held wireless telecommunication devices" as any type of instrument, device or machine that is capable of transmitting or receiving telephonic, electronic, radio, text or data communications that is designed to engage in a call or communicate text or data using at least one hand (Sec. 1). -Establishes that violators will be fined $125 in addition to court costs (Sec. 1).
