Title: Food Stamps for Drug Felons

Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that allows aid under the Food Stamp Program for all eligible persons convicted of a drug felony.

Highlights:
-Repeals the specifications that a convicted drug felon, in order to receive food stamps, must have completed, participated in, or enrolled in a government-recognized drug treatment program or provided other evidence that the illegal use of controlled substances has ceased (Sec. 1). -Requires that the state reimburse local agencies and school districts for any costs mandated by this state that are associated with this bill (Sec. 2).
