Vote to pass a bill that requires a woman to have an ultrasound before an abortion can be performed.
Highlights:
-Requires physicians to determine if the unborn child is viable before performing an abortion, except in cases of medical emergency (Sec. 1).
-Specifies that in order to assist in making an accurate finding of viability, the physician intending to terminate a pregnancy must first perform an ultrasound (Sec. 1).
-Requires that at least two hours prior to any part of an abortion, the physician must perform an obstetric ultrasound and offer to display the screen that depicts the active ultrasound images to the pregnant woman, offer to explain the images and offer to print out the images (Sec. 1).
