Dan Sparks voted Yea (Passage) on this Legislation.
Title: Labor Disputes, Eligibility for Unemployment, and Dislocated Worker Benefits
Vote to pass a bill that removes the prohibition for participants in a labor dispute to receive unemployment benefits, if that dispute was ordered to a hearing by the commissioner in 2005 without an initial determination. The bill also stipulates that if an individual falls into the above category they are called a dislocated worker and the Commissioner of Employment and Economic Redevelopment can waive the dislocated worker program requirements for such an individual. Additionally, the bill establishes that unemployment benefits paid to applicants involved in a labor dispute in 2005 are not to be considered overpayment.
