Title: University of Minnesota Football Stadium
Vote to adopt a conference report that provides $137.25 million in annual payments of $10.25 million to fund the construction of a football stadium at the University of Minnesota and requires the University of Minnesota to raise $110.75 million in nonstate money to support the stadium's construction. The bill stipulates that the student fee collected to fund the construction of the stadium must equal the bonds issued. It requires the University of Minnesota to establish a fund of $1.5 million for community initiatives that relate to the impacts of the operation of the stadium and requires a report of the impact of the University of Minnesota on the surrounding community. Additionally, the bill imposes a .20 cent tax on every ton of taxable taconite to support the Hockey Hall of Fame in the city of Eveleth.
