Title: National Guard Deployment on Southern U.S. Land Border

Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote on a motion to waive the Budget Act for an amendment to HR 4899 that appropriates $250 million for the deployment of at least 6,000 National Guard personnel along the southern land border of the United States to assist U.S. Customs and Border Protection in border security activities.

Highlights:
  • Rescinds $250 million in unobligated amounts made available under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 ("stimulus bill") to offset the aforementioned appropriation for National Guard personnel deployment (Sec. 309).
