Title: Prohibits Inappropriate Pictures of Minors

Vote to pass a bill that prohibits minors from intentionally sharing, exchanging, and/or sending a photograph, video, or other material that displays nudity; enforcing criminal offenses against minors involved in "sexting."

Highlights:

-Prohibits a minor from knowingly sending, posting, or exchanging a photograph, video or other material that shows the minor in a state of nudity (Sec. 1, ORC § 2907.324,). -Prohibits a minor from sending images of another minor in a state of nudity (Sec. 1, ORC § 2907.324). -Establishes that this law does not apply to cases where both of the following apply (Sec. 1, ORC § 2907.324):

    - The material or performance is, or is to be, sold, disseminated, displayed, shared, controlled, brought or caused to be brought into this state, or presented for bona fide artistic, medical, scientific, educational, religious, governmental, judicial, or other proper purpose; and - The minor's parents, guardian, or custodian consents in writing to the photographing of the minor.
-Prohibits minors from sharing or viewing any material or performance that shows them or another minor in a state of nudity by means other than a telecommunications device (Sec. 1, ORC § 2907.324). -Defines an "unruly child" as any child that (Sec. 1, ORC § 2151.022):
    -Does not submit to reasonable control of the child's parents, teachers, guardian, or custodian by way of being disobedient; -Is a habitually truant from school; -Behaves in a manner as to injure or endanger the child's own health or morals, or those of others; or -Violates a law that is applicable only to a child.
-Establishes that whoever violates this law is guilty of sexting and shall be adjudged an unruly child (Sec. 1, ORC § 2907.324).
