Title: Prohibiting Federal Health Care Mandates
Vote to override a veto of a joint resolution that allows Oklahomans to refrain from obtaining health care coverage.
-Establishes that Oklahomans are not required to obtain or maintain a policy of individual health insurance coverage except as required by a court or the Department of Human Services (Sec. 1). -Establishes that no resident of Oklahoma is liable for any penalty, assessment, fee, or fine as a result of the failure to procure or obtain health insurance coverage (Sec. 1). -Authorizes a person or employer to pay directly for lawful health care services (Sec. 1). -Authorizes the purchase or sale of health insurance in private health care systems (Sec. 1). -Specifies that this bill does not affect which health care services a health care provider or hospital is required to perform or provide or affect which health care services are permitted by law (Sec. 1).
NOTE: A TWO-THIRDS MAJORITY OF MEMBERS ELECTED IS REQUIRED TO OVERRIDE A GOVERNOR'S VETO.
