Title: Voter Registration Photo ID

Vote Smart's Synopsis:

Vote to pass a bill that requires voters to provide photo identification, stipulates that the Department of Public Safety will provide Minnesota photo identification cards free of charge at any Department of Motor Vehicle driver’s license facility to anyone eligible to vote and whose household income is below the federal poverty level, and allows voters who are unable to provide photo identification to vote on unverified ballots. The bill stipulates that if the unverified ballots are less than three percent of the ballots cast they will be counted but if the unverified ballots are more than three percent of the total ballots cast they will only be counted if the voter provides photo identification within three days. The bill also requires anyone who runs for state legislature or a constitutional office to provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
