Title: Income Tax Credit Incentive for Colorado Businesses

Vote to pass a bill that provides businesses who re-hire previously laid off workers with a tax credit.

Highlights:
-Authorizes, for the income tax year commencing on January 1, 2011, only, an income tax credit for employers who re-hire previously laid-off employees if they were employed for at least a full year before being laid off in 2009, have been employed for at least a full year after being re-hired, and otherwise would not have been rehired without the tax credit (Sec. 1). -Authorizes the department of revenue to administer and enforce the credit (Sec. 1). -Specifies that a non-refundable tax credit that is greater than the amount of taxes owed in the current year can be used to offset taxes in future years (Sec. 1).
