Title: Sexually Oriented Business Regulations

Vote to concur with House amendments and pass a bill that establishes new regulations for sexually oriented businesses.

Highlights:

-Defines "sexually oriented business" as an adult arcade, an adult bookstore, an adult video store, an adult cabaret, an adult motion picture theater, a semi-nude model studio, a sexual device shop, or a sexual encounter center (Sec. 3). -Prohibits the establishment of sexually oriented businesses within 1,000 feet of the following (Sec. 4):

    -Public or private elementary or secondary schools; -Houses of worship; -State-licensed day cares; -Public parks; -Residences; and -Other sexually oriented businesses.
-Prohibits complete nudity in sexually oriented businesses, and limits semi-nudity to a fixed stage at least 6 feet from patrons and at least 18 inches from the floor in a room of at least 600 square feet (Sec. 5). -Prohibits sexually oriented businesses from being open between 12:00 midnight and 6:00 AM (Sec. 8). -Makes each violation of the sexually oriented business regulations in this bill a class C misdemeanor (Sec. 10). -Exempts cities or counties that have enacted ordinances or resolutions regulating sexually oriented businesses from the provisions of this bill (Sec. 11).
