Title: Classroom Size Limitation Amendments

Vote to pass a joint resolution that submits a constitutional amendment to the voters that amends classroom size requirements for public schools beginning with the 2010-2011 school year.
Highlights:
-Amends the classroom size limitation for students in prekindergarten through grade 3 as follows (Sec.1):
- -Existing law: maximum number of students per classroom shall not exceed 18; and
-New law: the average number of students per classroom shall not exceed 18, and the maximum number of students per classroom shall not exceed 21.
- -Existing law: maximum number of students per classroom shall not exceed 22; and
-New law: the average number of students per classroom shall not exceed 22, and the maximum number of students per classroom shall not exceed 27.
- -Existing law: maximum number of students per classroom shall not exceed 25; and
-New law: the average number of students per classroom shall not exceed 25, and the maximum number of students per classroom shall not exceed 30.
