Title: Closed-Session School Superintendent Evaluations

Vote to pass a bill that establishes specifications for superintendent evaluations.

Highlights:
-Defines "summative evaluation" as the summary of, and conclusions from, the evaluation data that (Sec. 1):
    -Occur at the end of an evaluation cycle; and -Include a conference between the evaluator and the evaluated certified employee, and a written evaluation report.
-Requires each superintendent to be evaluated according to policies and procedures developed by the local board of education and approved by the Kentucky Department of Education (Sec. 1). -Requires that the summative evaluation of the superintendent be discussed and adopted in an open meeting of the board and be reflected in the minutes (Sec. 1). -Requires that if a local board policy requires a written evaluation of the superintendent, it be accessible to the public upon request (Sec. 1). -Specifies that any preliminary discussion by the board or between the board and the superintendent, relating to the evaluation of the superintendent and prior to the summative evaluation will be conducted in a closed session (Sec. 1).
