Title: Authorizing Land Annexation

Vote to pass a bill that authorizes a city or town located in counties with a population of more than 350,000 to annex any territory laying within an area that is surrounded by the city or town, or that is bordered by the city or town on at least 3 sides, if the landowner has submitted a request to the federal government to take ownership of the territory or hold the territory in trust.
Highlights:
-Specifies that the annexation of territory is valid if approved by a majority vote of the governing body of the city or town, and the annexation becomes immediately final if it is approved as an emergency measure, thereby exempting the city or town from the existing requirements for land annexation (Sec. 1).
