Title: Home Child Care Regulations

Vote to pass a bill that establishes new regulations for home child care businesses and requires inspections of such homes to take place at least once every 15 months.
Highlights:
-Requires that no more than 6 children under 16 years of age may be cared for in a child care home environment, with no more than 3 children under 18 months of age being cared for (Sec. 4).
-Specifies that children under 12 years of age who are related to a person maintaining a child care home shall be included in the total number of children permitted to be in care (Sec. 4).
-Requires the Secretary of Health and Environment to start the inspection of child care homes on or before January 1, 2011 (Sec. 7).
-Prohibits a child care provider from applying for a new license to provide child care or from seeking employment under another child care provider if he or she is a repeat (three or more times) violator of statutory requirements or rules and regulations or is found to have contributed to the death or serious bodily harm of the child under the provider's care (Sec. 5).
