Title: Increasing State Employee Contribution to State Retirement System
Vote to pass a bill that, beginning September 1, 2010, increases the state employee contribution to the state retirement system from 5.57 to 7 percent of the employee's salary, and increases the employer contribution from 5.68 to 7.12 percent of the salary of each employee.
-Specifies that 5.57 percent of employee salary shall be paid by the employer without a salary reduction or offset for such employee, but any additional contribution must accompany a reduction in cash salary, unless specified by another legislative Act (Sec. 1). -Appropriates $23.5 million from the School Foundation Program Account for the State Auditor for the purpose providing each school district's increased employer contribution (Sec. 2). -Appropriates the following amounts for the State Auditor for the purpose of providing each state agency's increased employer contribution (Sec. 2):
