Vote to pass a bill that prohibits requiring health care professionals to provide any health care service that violates his or her conscience.

Highlights:

-Defines "conscience" as the religious, moral or ethical principals held by a person (Sec. 1). -Defines "health care service" as an abortion, dispensation of an abortion drug, stem cell research, treatments using human stem cells, human embryo cloning or end of life treatment (Sec. 1). -Requires employers of health care professionals to reasonably accommodate the conscience rights of their employees upon advanced written notification by the employee (Sec. 1). -Prohibits any employer from discriminating against any health care professional based upon his or her declining to provide a health care service that violates his or her conscience, unless the employer can demonstrate that such accommodation poses an undue hardship (Sec. 1). -Requires a health care professional to provide treatment and care until an alternate health care professional capable of treating the emergency is found if a health care professional invokes a conscience right in a life threatening situation (Sec. 1).
